Na początku 2018r. miałam ogromne szczęście. Zupełnie przypadkiem, podczas drobnego zabiegu chirurgicznego odkryto w moim brzuchu wroga - nowotwór złośliwy. Jestem bardzo wdzięczna za ten przypadek bo bez niego pewno już by mnie nie było.

Mogłam zacząć działać. Operacja i rekonwalescencja przebiegły pomyślnie ale niebawem wyszło na jaw, że nowotwór złośliwy jest zaawansowany bardziej niż początkowo oceniano. Konieczne było dalsze, obciążające leczenie.

Tuż przed podjęciem leczenia znowu miałam szczęście - wykryto u mnie genetyczną chorobę krwi, która "w pakiecie" z leczeniem onkologicznym mogła sporo narozrabiać. Terapię trzeba było dopasować do nowych okoliczności.

Po wielu konsultacjach i studiach literaturowych zdecydowałam się podjąć nierefundowaną przez NFZ, nowoczesną, spersonalizowaną chemioterapię popartą odpowiednim sposobem odżywiania i zachowania. Przyjmuję  preparaty, których skuteczność na moje komórki nowotworowe została potwierdzona w indywidualnych badaniach. Skutki uboczne są minimalne a ja czuję się dobrze, mam siłę dalej się leczyć i wierzę, że pewnego dnia będę zupełnie zdrowa.

Jedynym  minusem są koszty. Dodatkowo w tym typie nowotworu nie ma tzw. markerów, które pomagają monitorować rozwój choroby. Konieczne jest więc korzystanie z kosztownego i nierefundowanego w Polsce badania krążących i macierzystych komórek nowotworowych "Maintrac", powtarzanego najlepiej średnio co 6 miesięcy. 

Przez 2,5 roku od wykrycia nowotworu było bardzo dobrze, jednak pół roku temu badania wykazały, że stan się pogorszył. Terapia została zintensyfikowana a koszty istotnie wzrosły. Średnio, miesięcznie to od kilku do nawet kilkunastu tysięcy złotych.

Dlatego, aby zapewnić sobie kontynuowanie  leczenia zdecydowałam się za pośrednictwem Fundacji Onkologicznej Nadzieja poprosić o pomoc tych, którzy mogą jej udzielić w postaci przekazania 1% podatku lub innych wpłat.

Będę zobowiązana i mam nadzieję odpłacić dobrem.

At the beginning of 2018, I was very lucky. During a minor surgical procedure, an enemy was detected completely by chance in my stomach - a malignant tumor. I am very grateful for this coincidence because otherwise I would have probably been gone by now.

Thanks to this discovery, I could take action. Surgery and recovery were successful, but it soon became apparent that the cancer was more advanced than initially assessed. Some further, difficult treatment was needed.

Just before starting the treatment, I was lucky again - I was diagnosed with a genetic blood disorder, which could cause a lot of trouble combined with the oncological treatment. The therapy had to be adjusted to the new circumstances.

After many consultations and literature reviews, I decided to start modern, personalized chemotherapy supported by an appropriate diet and behavior. The treatment consists of substances, the effectiveness of which on my particular cancer cells has been confirmed by personal tests. Side effects are minor, and I feel fine and have the strength to continue the therapy. I believe that one day I will be completely healthy.

The only downside is the cost because the therapy is not reimbursed by insurance in Poland. To make it worse, in this type of cancer, there are no so-called "markers" that help monitor disease development. Hence, it is necessary to use the costly test called "Maintrac" to assess circulating and stem tumor cells' levels, which should be repeated every six months on average. Neither the therapy nor this kind of diagnostics is reimbursed by insurance in Poland.

After the cancer was detected, the surgery and first wave of treatment, I have been feeling fine for 2.5 years. Unfortunately, six months ago, the test showed that my health deteriorated. The therapy had to be intensified, and the costs increased significantly. On average, they can reach several thousand zlotys per month.

Therefore, to support the continuation of the treatment, I decided to ask for help from those who can provide it, through the "Nadzieja" Oncology Foundation.
